The Member Gallery is a feature of the CMAG newsletter. It is a way for us to promote the members of CMAG, and to introduce ourselves to each other in our metalsmithing and jewelry community. We invite all members to share their work, philosophy, personal experience, and likeness. Please do not feel that you need to be ready for the pages of American Craft to share your images with the rest of us!

We would like to feature images of you and your work. Any images that can be provided as electronic files would be greatly appreciated. High resolution (300 dpi) files are ideal, but we’ll do our best with whatever you have. PLEASE PUT YOUR NAME INTO THE FILE NAME OF ALL GRAPHICS!

Length of the feature is up to you, though editing may be necessary. The following questions are meant to help you write about your experiences as an artist. Please feel free to address any or none of them and write anything you feel would help give our fellow CMAG members an understanding of you and your work.

What would you like people to know about who you are and what you make?

Why do you do what you do?

What inspires you?

How and when did you come to make jewelry (metalwork)?

How does your art relate to the community?

Who or what are your artistic influences?

What is your background?

Do you collaborate with other artists?

Do you teach your craft?

Where do you find your greatest creative freedom?

What is your strongest feature as an artist?

What do you think might set you apart from other metalsmiths/artists?

You may use your "artist's statement", but you might want to adjust it a bit for the newsletter, where you're addressing mostly other jewelers and friends.

So, to summarize, we need:

• A “head-shot”
• 2-5 images of your work
• A paragraph or so about yourself.
