Anodizing Workshop with Noel
Yovovich
August 15th and 16th at
McHenry County College,
Crystal Lake, Illinois
Explore anodizing and
heat-coloring titanium,
masking and grinding
options, use of a
sandblaster. Students would
make samples. If time
allows, setting and
cold-joining methods such as
wire wrap and riveting will
be discussed as they apply
to titanium. Students could
have much more hands-on
experience with more complex
designs like interiors and
landscapes that require
planning and detail work.

Exploring Enameling Workshop
with Linda Darty
Sept 26th and 27th, Location
TBA
A variety of innovative
enameling processes will be
introduced. A basic
introduction to enameling
will be presented which
includes preparation of
enamel, working with opaque
and transparent colors, dry
sifting and wet inlaying
techniques. We will
experiment with liquid
enamels, sifted stenciled
and sgraffito techniques,
foils, water color and
painting enamels, decal
papers, torch and kiln
firing. Simple approaches to
cloissone and champleve will
be discussed. Metal
fabrication and finishing
techniques will include cold
connections as well as
soldering findings on
finished enamels will be
discussed.Registration
